Cambridge, MD – Construction has begun on the Foxtail Crossing II development in Cambridge, the first of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg partnership properties providing affordable housing to low income households with disabilities to get under way.
Foxtail Crossing II is a 48-unit multi-family community with townhouses that range from one to two stories with two to four bedrooms and attached garages.
“This project is especially exciting as it is the first of our Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation partnership properties,” said Secretary Skinner. “We strive to offer affordable housing to the families in our state, and with the generous support of the Weinberg Foundation and Foxtail’s non-profit owner, Homes for America, we are now able to reach further and increase affordable opportunities to those with disabilities with very low incomes.”
The rent-to-own units will be available for households who fall at or below 60% of the area median income. With the partnership of the Harry and Jeanette Weinburg Foundation, two of the houses will remain as rental units for those who fall between 15-30% of the area median income.
This project is estimated to create 104 full-time equivalent construction jobs, and will hopefully contribute to the preservation of affordable housing statewide.
