On Thursday, President Barack Obama unveiled his $447 billion jobs package to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. His plan, called the American Jobs Act, would cut payroll taxes, extend unemployment benefits and direct $100 billion to infrastructure improvements.
A component of the American Jobs Act is “Project Rebuild” which is aimed at putting people to work rehabilitating homes, boosting businesses and revitalizing communities. Project Rebuild is estimated to result in the creation of nearly 200,000 jobs, while bringing stability to homes prices in neighborhoods impacted by foreclosures.
