We thought you’d like to see this note from Customer Service Manager Juanita Cage-Lewis, one of our front-line (not to mention top-drawer) people when it comes to responding to the needs and concerns of Maryland citizens.
“Good Afternoon,
Ms. Jefferies, a lady/constituent from the past, phoned me this morning; not sure how she found our new exchange but she did.
I spoke to Ms. Jefferies 18 years ago while Governor Schaefer was in office and we were located at 45 Calvert Street. She had many problems and I was able to assist her. Our secretary at that time was Jacqueline Rogers. Can you believe she phoned me after 18 years? She said it has been 18 years and she’s about right.
She wanted to thank me from the heart and to give me her condolences on the loss of Governor Schaefer for he was our governor at the time. She said if it wasn’t for the governor hiring me, I would not have been there to provide her with help over and over again. She’s right. I did receive call after call after call to get her situation in control.
Ms. Jefferies informed me that she is the president of her apartment’s tenant’s association at Foxwell Memorial Apartments. She wished me a Happy Easter and ended her call saying she really appreciated all that I did for her 18 years ago, and again that she is sorry for the loss of Governor Schaefer.
Some of our callers will thank me for what I do for them; many phone in and aren’t very nice. Most times it’s based on something that another person has done or did not do. I am so accustomed to it that it no longer affects me because I realize they are in turmoil and they need to lash out at someone. My position receives little or no recognition, but when a call like this comes in after 18 years its worth all of the headaches.
I hope Governor Schaefer heard her from the heavens. I am so full and touched right now that I had to share this story with all of you; it has made my day.”
Juanita
