Glen Burnie, MD – A new apartment complex for senior citizens – made possible through tax credits through the Recovery Act and praised by its owners as the “new generation” of affordable living housing – was fully leased before construction was even completed, reports the Maryland Gazette. Secretary Skinner attended the Dec. 14 grand opening of Hammarlee House, saying the builders also took advantage of a Recovery Act program to increase energy efficiency to add several green features that would help residents save money on their utility bills.
